Alan Bartlett's choice of theme for session 10 was The Circus which inspired some very diverse and lively drawings. This session we had 11 artists on Zoom and three others contributing off line. The age range of the group was the widest yet from one of Rory's kids who is two all the way up to Alan who is seventy something. So roll up, roll up and have a butcher's at the lovely work!
Ana Ripoll gave us this joyful and not-at-all-scary clown to open the show! |
Then Alan Bartlett took us to the Circ Soleil for some dazzling acrobatics! |
Then Angelica Pownall zapped us with this powerful figure! Is it a contortionist? Is it an acrobat? Is it the right way up? |
And in the centre spotlight Anne Alderson showed us this fabulous couple dangling high above the crowd! What a marvellous pair of danglers! |
But wait! Who is this nefarious character lurking in the curtains? Good grief! It's the Joker from Gotham by Anna Lindengberger! Nyah-ha-ha-haaaaah! |
Back inside the tent the kindly elephant trainer is showing what Mrs Jumbo can do as beautifully portrayed from Morocco by Khawla Sdour! She'll do anything for a bun! The elephant I mean. Not Khawla! |
Watching in the crowd is Andy Sirkis (Sirkis/Circus- geddit?) with a couple of his pals Gollum and Caesar the intelligent ape as portrayed by the not-so-intelligent ape- Paul Cemmick. |
Then the world's most beautiful clown by Pearl Bates introduces some far less beautiful clowns- |
Master cartoonist Rory Walker and his two very young children- Rafa and Zola gave us a bonkers circus scene and some fabulous circus designs that would make Miro and Hockney very jealous! |
